After a week spent visiting the British capital, I’m starting my “travel report” with some advice about where to eat in London!
I start from the most expensive tip, the Indian restaurant Masala zone. It is located at 147 Earl’s court road, not far from the subway (5 minutes walk). The environment is refined, with soft lighting, and the staff is always ready and available to answer customers’ questions and doubt. The food was good and service was very fast. If you need more information you can read their website.
Not far from this restaurant, at 161 Earl’s Court Road, there is the pub The Prince of teck (it is very easy to find, you see it as soon as you exit from the Earl’s Court tube station).
Built on two floors, the dining room is upstairs and I recommend you dine there to stand out of the confusion of the pub downstairs. The food is good (we tried the burgers) and the prices are “normal” for London (we spent about 17 pounds each). Website: www.princeofteck.com
In Notting Hill we stopped to have lunch at Crussh, which sell “fit food”. As with many chains in London (always talking about food), they also mark the calories of various sandwiches, salads and foods they sell: so if you are careful to the line is perfect. Very very cheap, we ate in two spending about 17 pounds (in total!).
Another extremely economical chain is Wasabi.Sushi & Bento. Fairly widespread in London, you don’t need any explanations about what kind of food that this chain prepares and sells (you can easily imagine it)! In two we spent about 12 pounds and I personally really like their chicken curry (I don’t know if it’s sold in every store, but if you find it a try).
If you always check the calories of what you eat, you can go to Pret a Manger. Here you will find salads, sandwiches (hot and cold) and snacks as well as hot drinks (tea, coffee, etc) and various drinks
I conclude with the extra advice (the “+1” of the title): If you are a fan of street food, you should go to Camden Town! There you can find various kind of food, as Indian and Mexican. The best part is the one in the outdoor, but you will find it only during the summer season (more or less by the end of April to September, but it is a “purely indicative indication”!).
Have you tried any of these pubs / restaurants? How have you found?
