[other] 3 museums in Munich

[other] 3 museums in Munich

There are so many museums to visit in Munich. After the three we talked about yesterday, I would like to recommend three more museums in Munich today, which I think you shouldn’t miss if you come to spend a few days in the city. Let’s start from the Glyptotheca (or Gypsoteca), one of the most famous German
La Gypsoteca museums. Ludovico I, required the neoclassical building that houses the exhibition. The museum houses sculptures, mosaics and remainings from the Greek and Roman periods and the works are divided into different rooms according to the historical origin:
Archaic period
Classical period
Hellenistic period
Roman times
Some of the most important pieces are the “Barberini Faun” (220 B.C.) and the “Alessandro Rondanini” (338
Staatliche Antichensamlung B.C.). After the Glipsoteca I bring you to the National Collections of antique objects (Staatliche antiken sammlungen), exposed in the building located precisely opposite the previous one. This building was built, as the previous one, at the behest of Ludwig I and, initially, the royal museum of antiques was set up; subsequently, from 1898 to 1912, the building housed the gallery of artists of the secession of Monaco and a few years later became the headquarters of the Neue Staatsgalerie.
Staatliche Antichensamlung Damaged during the war, the building was renovated and houses the current collection since the late sixties. The original core of the group exhibited here consists of works donated by Ludwig I, passionate about the art of the ancient world. For the entrance ticket, there is a cumulative one for the two museums at the cost of € 6; the wardrobe, where you must necessarily leave the larger bags, costs 0.70€ in each museum.
Museo del giocattolo The last museum I’m talking about is the Toy Museum (Spielzeugmuseum im Alten Rathausturm). This small museum is located inside the tower of the old town hall, at Marienplatz, the entrance fee costs 4€ and is divided into three floors based on the historical period and the type of toys on display. I was very impressed, even more than I expected, and I discovered many games that I never expected to see:
Museo del giocattolo from giant (and horrifying) insects to bears that more than sweetness transmitted anxiety,a lot of trains, bears (the “cute and cuddly” ones) and dolls. If you want to go back to your childhoos at least for an hour, this is more or less the duration of the visit, and you want to make children understand and discover the evolution of toys I suggest you a lot to visit this museum during your trip to Munich.
