Where to stay in Dublin? Today I want to tell you about the apartment I chose for my stay in the Irish capital. An apartment that I have chosen after a long search and several months of indecision.
Why I chose to rent an apartment? The main reason was that, by comparing the costs of hotels and apartments, I saw that I would have saved at least 400-500 euro for 7 nights!
I also wanted “more freedom”: I wanted to have a kitchen and a table where I could sit down to eat for dinner (and not a desks of a hotel rooms).
Why I chose to book this apartment?Always for two reasons: the first is the price (when I booked I had to base my choice only on photos that I could see on the site); the second reason was the location: the apartment is located in Love lane, inside the complex called “the Northumberland”, between Merrion Square and Grand Canal Square (in the docklands area of Dublin). Now let’s talk about more practical information
– Location: as I said it’s located between Merrion Square and Grand Canal Square; From the apartment you can easily walk to almost all places of tourist interest (only the Guinness Storehouse and the phoenix park were a little further away);
the area was safe even in the evening and I can tell you for sure because I’ve tested It personally returning to the apartment alone at night. Finally, it is certainly very well connected by bus to the center and is close to the “Grand Canal Dock” DART station (with which you can reach the villages of Howth and Bray);
– Structure of the apartment: two bedrooms, kitchen equipped with everything necessary, a fairly large living room with a sofa, an armchair (and coffee table between the two), a table, the bathroom and also a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. On the balcony there is a small table and a chair,
and here you can smoke (in fact there are two ashtrays).
I found a very good organization of space and I think that it could be comfortable for four people.
– Personal Conclusion: There are many positive aspects, no negatives to report (there are a few things to improve, definitely, but I have already reported to Gianluca and I am not here to bore you with advice that it is better to give directly to the owner). I recommend taking a look at the apartment directly on Airbnb to fully understand if the house is right for you or not.
